D89 hosting Vaccination Clinics

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

We are happy to announce that we will be hosting a vaccination clinic event at Melrose Park Elementary School on Friday, May 14th, for any student 12 years or older. Please see the attached flyer below for additional information.

Additionally, we have been working in collaboration with the Superintendents of Hillside, Berkeley, and Maywood-Melrose Park-Broadview school districts to secure vaccinations for our students. I am pleased to announce a 2nd COVID Community Vaccine Clinic for all interested children in our communities ages 12 and older (see attached flyer below). We anticipate the FDA will approve the Pfizer vaccination for this age group in the coming days. This vaccination clinic is scheduled for Monday, May 17th. The May 17th vaccination clinic will be administered at 4550 Roosevelt Road in Hillside, IL, Local 73 Hall.

Please know that the decision to vaccinate for COVID is entirely voluntary for you and your children ages 12 and older. We are doing our part in providing our community with an opportunity to become vaccinated. If you are interested, please click on the link in the flyer to access the Sign-Up Genius for appointment selections.

In the event that approval for this age group does not occur prior to our clinics, you will be contacted directly via email to reschedule your appointment for a future date. So please make sure you have an email address on file when you register for an appointment.

I want to thank my fellow Superintendents in our neighboring Districts and our health partners at Jewel-Osco and Positive Health Services for making these vaccination clinics possible.

Dr. David Negron, Superintendent
